HAND-KNOTTED WOOL | NATURAL VEGETABLE DYES | THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND
This handwoven kilim originates from Oaxaca, Mexico, crafted in the Zapotec tradition. Its design alternates bands of stepped diamonds and meanders, woven in bold turquoise, crimson, purple, and black. The central serrated diamonds symbolize the four directions and cosmic balance, while the running meander border is a motif of eternity and continuity. Kilims like this were traditionally used as both floor coverings and wall hangings, known for their reversible weave and strong use of natural dyes.
